Today begins the first day of my summer class. After a year away, I'll be resuming my schoolwork, at least for the next eight weeks, til the end of July. I know that I'll be busy, and as such, I'll be scaling back all nonessential tasks. I do have a prewritten blog post scheduled to appear toward the end of the month, but otherwise I'm planning to be radio silent (church sermon notes included) for the foreseeable future.
One thing I wanted to mention, as it pertained to my Bible reading -- I may have mentioned this in a previous check-in -- while I'm doing decent in terms of staying up-to-date on the reading, I'm finding that I much prefer to linger over a period of time in the Bible. King David recently died, and because I've spent at least the last month reading about everything that happened in his lifetime, I don't feel ready to move on to King Solomon's reign, and the beginning of the slow decline of the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. I just don't. Then again, I wasn't ready to move on from the Moses era of Scripture... or the book of Genesis... or Exodus... or Leviticus... and so on.
I'm still committing to staying on task with the Bible reading program as best as I can for the rest of 2022. However, I'm going to find a different plan for when this one wraps up, one that goes at a slower, more thoughtful pace.
More to come... eventually.
