Offertory scripture:
God is good and the devil is bad. Simple truths but they’re true.
Giving = worshipping God.
God wants us to choose to / want to honor Him.
Sermon message:
Thesis: Truth you can believe, part 3
The Godhead = God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. One God, three persons.
God the Father does not lie.
God the Son does not lie.
God the Holy Spirit does not lie.
God’s Word does not lie.
Point #1: God the Father wants to be your father.
He is everyone’s father by creation but He is your Father via relation. He is the Father via relationship when you receive Jesus.
People who are not saved have the devil as their father.
We can choose who will be our father: either God or the world / the devil.
But God wants a relationship with you and to be your Father.
Bottom line: we have a choice. We can choose God or choose something/someone else. But there are consequences.
When you choose God, you get an intimate relationship with Him.
Benefits of receiving God as your father:
-Everlasting life
-Good gifts from Him
Until we have a relationship with Jesus we are in the kingdom of darkness.
Point #2: God the Son wants to be your Shepherd
Jesus offers more than just salvation. He wants more for you.
Point #3: God the Holy Spirit wants to be your helper
