Offertory scripture:
What are you believing God for? What are you expecting Him for? He loves you and cares for you. Therefore we should be expecting good things from Him. Count the flowers, and not the weeds.
Isaiah 40:31 they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They will lift up their wings like eagles. They will run and not be weary. They will walk and not faint.
Sermon message:
God is a good God.
Thesis: Confession is important.
There are two types of confession:
1. Confession of your sins 1 John 1:9
2. Confession that Jesus is who the Bible says who He is. Receiving Him as your Lord and Savior.
There are others as well:
Confessing God’s Word. It builds our faith when we do this.
Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing, and hearing from the Word of God.
It builds and releases our faith.
It releases the power of faith.
Romans 10:8-10 what say you? The Word of God is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart. That is, the word of faith which we preach. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
It is also power against spiritual warfare.
The Word of God gives you power against the enemy.
Ephesians 6:11 put on the whole armor of God so that you can stand against the plans and strategies of the devil.
Ephesians 6:17 wield the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
Hebrews 10:23 let us hold fast to our confession of our faith without wavering. God is faithful which He promises to be.
Don’t stop believing the Word of God; don’t stop speaking it either.
Point #1: I confess the absolute Lordship of Jesus.
Confess Jesus’s absolute power and authority.
Philippians 2:9-11 God highly exalted Jesus and gave Him a name which is above every name. At His name every knee will bow, everyone in heaven, everyone on earth, and everyone under the earth. Every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father.
John 10:10 Jesus: the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I come so that you can have life and have it to the full.
Point #2: I confess I don’t have any cares or worries; I have given them to God.
Say it; it’ll materialize after you say it.
1 Peter 5:7 cast all your cares on God, for He cares about you.
When you cast your cares on Him then you don’t have it.
1 Peter 5:7 AMP
God deeply cares about you.
Point #3: I confess I have supernatural peace.
Remember, we are fighting spiritual battles, in the spiritual realm.
John 14:27 Jesus: “peace I leave with you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart your heart be troubled or afraid.”
Philippians 4:7 …and the peace of God which surpasses all human understanding which guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (it is yours!).
Daniel, Shadrach, Mesach, and Abednego had supernatural peace. You can have it too.
Point #4: I confess that God meets my needs.
Why say it? It builds your faith. And because God says to do this.
Philippians 4:19 my God will supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
God meets all our needs and He wants to meet our wants. Not the perverted wants that go against His will, but our wants that do go along with His will.
Psalm 23:1 the Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want.
Psalm 103:2-5 let all that I am praise the Lord. May I never forget all the good things He does for me. He forgives me. He heals me. He redeems me. He crowns me with love and tender mercies. My youth is renewed like the eagle!
When you speak the word of God you release faith.
Point #5: I confess that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. But I will prosper.
This is the Word of the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17 no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against you we shall condemn, for this is the heritage of the servants of the Most High God, and your righteousness shall be from Him.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me.
3 John 1:2 from John: beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
When we speak the Word of God, we cut into the spiritual realm. It’s the sword of the Spirit.
Point #6: I confess I am forgiven and righteous. In Jesus’s name.
What is needed is for you to receive God’s forgiveness, because Jesus paid it all on the cross.
One of the most common stumbling blocks among Christians is believing that they’re forgiven.
Psalm 32:5 …God has forgiven my sin.
1 John 1:9 God is faithful to forgive and cleanse you, if you confess to Him.
Psalm 51 (David’s confession of his sin and of God’s forgiveness)
God forgave Pharisee Saul/Paul and used him for His kingdom.
Jesus forgave a woman caught in adultery. (John 8)
Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far as He has removed our transgressions from us.
2 Corinthians 5:21 for God has made Jesus to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
By confessing the above, you are moving things in the spiritual realm.
