Things are definitely changing

Today I had an interview out in Westmont. It's actually a little further from my place than Elmhurst is, and it was with a similar type of company (i.e. one that's relatively young and small but rapidly growing).

Unlike that day ["http://amidthenoiseandhaste2.blogspot.com/2010/04/i-got-lost.html"], I did not get lost this time. Not only that, but I left my house about 25 minutes later than planned and arrived my destination about 15 minutes early. What was the difference this time? For one, I asked my folks if I could borrow their I-Pass machine (for those of you who read this and don't live in a state with tollways, it's a little plastic device that you can stick on your car and go right through the toll booths -- at highway speed -- and it'll deduct money off an account that you'd already set up online with the Illinois Tollway System). When I went to Elmhurst I didn't think to ask them, and I knew I wouldn't have enough money to go through the cash-only lanes, so I pretty much drove on city streets and suburban roads. As I recall, a trip that could've taken 45 minutes (and one that I bargained an hour and a half) took 2 hours.

Today's drive down took about 50 minutes. I think I may have learned something over the last five months: ask and ye shall receive. The idea of knowing and trusting that a good God will provide no matter what (even if it's different from what you're asking) has helped a ton with it; that, and knowing that other people you know can be the same way... I didn't think I could get any more confident, but apparently I can.

Speaking of confidence, I have an interview tomorrow out in Westmont. Yes, it's with the same people. If I get the job, great; even if I don't, I have more traffic surrounding my résumé, phone, and email these days. I will land something somewhere. Things are definitely changing.
