Today marks six years since I followed through on what I truly believe was a green light from God to restart this blog. Next month will mark twenty years since my actual first post, back when I was half my current age and in college going for my Bachelor's in Music Theory and Composition. I post today to state my gratitude for God allowing me to blog again. Six years ago, I returned, not really knowing what this blog was going to become, outside of a set of rules I had set up for myself in order to not repeat the same types of missteps I had previously committed here.
Within a month or so, my ex, who I was dating at the time, suggested that I turn this blog into a space to share about my faith and to honor the Lord. Although my mission statement did say that sharing about my faith was one of my goals, I didn't foresee that it would one day become the goal! But that's good, because it means God has been supplying the material and the energy for me to do so.
I also did not foresee posting (almost) every day like I am now. Granted, this uptick in posting since the reboot was gradual, first starting with posting my notes from my church's sermons (especially in seasons of catching up after being away from the blog!), to at some point also adding devotionals from a Bible app I downloaded. I did periodically write about music, which ended up being less prominent a topic than I believe I originally thought (again, not complaining, since the first priority is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to honor God here).
I believe I am at the point now of seeing how this blog can also be an extension of my relationship with the Lord, just like I've been able to see music-writing fulfilling a similar function. It took a long time to get to this point with this blog. I don't know what the plan is yet regarding all the posts God and I have co-written. Perhaps one day this all can be compiled and made into a book? Or an e-book? Anything is possible. But as of now, I've heard nothing. I have been saving blog posts into Microsoft Word and PDF just in case. (I have a long way to go to catch up to all of them, and the more posts I write into the future, the longer it will be! Again, not complaining; I am very grateful, just stating a reality here.)
At any rate, I will sign off for the day. Thank you, Father God, in the name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, for blessing me with this space and the knowledge and energy to write what I write. I ask that Your will be done here in this blog space as it is up in heaven, and that this space can be a place to bring Your Kingdom here on earth to minister to others. Come have Your way with this blog and in all areas of my life. I pray all these things, with thanksgiving to You, in Jesus's name. Amen.
