Sermons from Good News: Confession brings faith

Church 2/14/2024

Sermon message: Confession brings faith.

Romans 10:9-10
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Point #1: God loves you and me.

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Confession brings faith.

As you repeat these confessions, head knowledge eventually drops into your heart.

Point #2: God forgives you and me.

The devil wants you to feel condemned. But the response should be to confess God’s love and forgiveness over you.

Colossians 1:14
in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

1 John 2:1-2
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

God forgives you because of Jesus.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Point #3: God wants you and me blessed.

(The order of these points is important. You need believe and receive God’s love, then His forgiveness , and then His blessings.)

Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Numbers 6:22-27
22 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
24 “The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
27 “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”

Point #4: God wants us to love others, forgive others, and bless others.

John 15:12
This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Ephesians 4:32
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Proverbs 11:25
The generous soul will be made rich,
And he who waters will also be watered himself.
